Question help with getting wireless at bootup to work

After boot, I go to the control panel and run the iwconfig (iwconfig_setup), choose wlan0 and the necessary variables and it connects fine.

How do I get this to work automatically during boot?

I'm using a PCMCIA WPC54G. I had to use the version 3.0 drivers off linksys website and ndiswrapper (wow what a PITA)

Here is /etc/network/interfaces

Code:
# /etc/network/interfaces -- configuration file for ifup(8), ifdown(8)

# The loopback interface
# automatically added when upgrading
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
#
# wireless
iface wlan0 inet dhcp
wireless-essid _correctSSID_
wireless-channel 1
wireless-key _correctpasshere_
wireless-nick PicServer
auto wlan0

after examining the file and some tinkering, I had to pass this command via the command line to connect, then added to bootlocal.sh

Code:
sudo /usr/local/bin/iwconfig.sh #### $$$$ %%%% &&&&
where:
Code:
#### = device (mine was wlan0)
$$$$ = channel/freq (1)
%%%% = sid (ESSID)
&&&& = wep pass
