I am trying to use DSL on an old Compaq Presario 1215 laptop with a Cyrix 180MHz CPU and 24MB of RAM. I just burnt the 0.9.3 disk, but the boot sequence failed. While it was loading linux24, I got the error "isolinux: disk error 80, AX=4280 drive 9F".

I decided to try an older disk I had, but I am not sure which version it was. This time, linux24 loaded correctly, but I got a similar error loading minirt24.gz. The error was "isolinux: disk error 01, AX=423B, drive 9F".

Does anyone know what I need to do to get this to work? Thanks in advance for any help.

Used a floppy disk and got past that problem. Now I get new errors. I get many errors on screen when it is initializing now. Most of them are from croot. At the end, I get the error "Kernel panic: VFS: unable to mount rootfs on 1:3". My computer then crashes and the keyboard lights flash on and off. Does anyone know how to fix this? Is there something wrong with my hard drive?
