Lazarus IDE forms minimal size

Hi!

I Installed Lazarus IDE on Bodhi with two monitors and recompiled. After disconnected other monitor Source editor form still 2381X433 size and I can't decrease the size. Looks like E17 remembered minimal form size and doesn't allow to make it smaller. Any ideas how to resolve it?

i might be misunderstanding your question, but it sounds like you want to adjust your screen layout after making some changes. bodhi has a screen layout editor called ARandR in Applications -> Preferences.

sorry, perhaps I explained it wrongly, again, here is a screenshot:
https://ibb.co/SyXQGzw
Source editor is to wide, Object inspector covers Toolbar and I can't reduce the sizes, I can make it bigger, but not smaller.
Just tested on Windows-works fine. Will try to test in LUbuntu, used it about half of a year ago, but I'm sure all good with Lubuntu too.
Looks like Bodhi remembered forms size and doesn't allow to reduce the sizes.
I do use Arandr when connect second monitor, but it's not related to screen resolution.

Your problem is, you can not resize the window by hand? When you grab window corner, it is impossible to resize? Anyway when you click on the window icon, the menu appears. Look up "window" item and go to "remember" in submenu. Now try to experiment with the settings.

I installed Lazarus to reproduce your trouble. I run it only on one monitor and there no problem with source editor resizing. Your problem appeared only after disconnecting the second monitor? What happens when you reboot your pc only with one monitor?

EDIT: what happens when you go to the window submenu and choose resize this way: use left arrow to reduce the window size (you can see the size X * Y) and then press Enter to confirm the new size.

Actually the issue might be related to Lazarus+Bodhi, not sure, ok.
I used Tools->Build Lazarus to recompile it with two monitors connected and after restart Lazarus Source Editor and Message forms became as wide as both monitors.
If I remember correctly, since that time I can't decrease its size.
After second monitor disconnection and reboot nothing specific happened, all the programs work as expected, except Lazarus.
I tried to use menu and resize the form with arrows, it doesn't work. Resize I mean reduce, I can increase the size, but can't make it smaller than 2381x433.

the_waiter:
please make Message and Source Editor forms wider than your current screen, than run rebuild Lazarus (Tools->Build...) then try to decrease Message and Source Editor forms. Will it work?

My guess is that the content of the window requires a certain minimum width; most likely an overly long line of code, and Line wrap disabled.
I don't use Lazarus, so that's all I can say.

the_waiter: no, that link is not related to my issue cause it's about Main panel toolbar.
ondoho: wrong guessing, I pressed Ctrl-A and removed all the tet, no result.

Found something interesting! I ran Arandr and changed screen resoution from 1366x768 to 1024x768 and guess what?? after screen refresh all the forms of Lazarus became correct size, but when I only tried to resize Source editor-it changed the size in a moment to 2381x433 again!!! the same with Message window.
The same if I not resize, but maximize form and minimize back. After minimization it returned to 2381x433.

i thought i remembered a discussion about similar secondary program windows in the discussion about 5.1.0 beta where Robert said it had something to do with EFL. i went looking for the thread, but couldn't find it. i have a desktop entry editor box that shows up when i right-click on the firefox logo and choose edit icon that also refuses to resize. in this instance it is as ondoho had suggested. there is text that won't wrap and so stretches the window beyond the edges of my monitor.

a week or so ago ylee previewed a fix for this in discord. It's been a known issue a long time. I wonder if it could be related to the OPs issue and if the moksha fix would affect his app....
