Avant Window Navigator

Posted 03-19-2009 at 05:58 PM by unixfool

I'm going to try to make my Dell Mini's desktop look more like the OS X desktop. I'd rather not install OS X to do this...

I've installed Avant Window Navigator, and it is running but there is also already a taskbar on the bottom of Ubuntu's Gnome. I'd kill it but I don't know if I can get it back later. I'd also like to add more widgets to it (for every widget showing on my Ubuntu install, I'd like a comparable and functional AWN widget).

I'll post my findings here, whether or not I get it working properly.

Compiz on top of the Dell Mini 9 makes things a tad less responsive (slightly laggy scrolling and such). I'm not even done with my OS X implementation...I may back out.
