Posted 11-09-2009 at 11:34 AM by quath

I have being trying to install a rpm for a past few days. I have download a package ,and i run the command rpm -i filename.rpm. Then it says that this directory doesn't exist.I assume that the file have to be placed in a certain folder for it to work. Is theory correct. If not can someone tell me step by step to install a rpm.

First we need to make sure which distro you are trying to install this package. Then we need to know where you downloaded it to (Desktop, cd, Documents, etc). Next it help to know what package.
