MK-0431 is a well known drug but widely known as Sitagliptin is a another name for the same orally taking drug which belongs to the dipeptidyl peptidase-4 group of drug in abbreviated form it is written as (DPP-4). This drug is widely used as a drug to control diabetes especially diabetes mellitus. These drug is taken alone or in combination with other drugs like thiazolidinedione or metformin or any reproductive drug of same class. These is basically a enzyme-inhibiting drug, thus it has some side effects like less weight gain, less hypoglycemia in order to control glucose of blood but these side effects are not taken much because it shows excellent results.
