youtube-dl says bye bye to ffmpeg

I use the python program youtube-dl almost on every website to download videos legally.

There have been/are some website whereby the protocol used is not understood by youtube-dl.

So a more powerful program such as ffmpeg is used if it can parse the particular stream. Advantage of ffmpeg was that the command used was simple to use and the ability to modify the options were easy. But its greatest problem was that it could not resume the download and had to start from...

En route to testing KDE 5 : Part 1 , the minimal slack install

Last time I visited changelog64 , a major up haul to slackware current was done, new xfce, kde releases and a new 3.18 kernel. This indicates a possible 14.2 Slackware will be released in due time when stability is deemed.

Until then, I embarked on a little experimentation about making a minimal -current install.

Since I did not want to reboot, I tried chroot. It did not work, so have to do more steps.

This is how i format my hard disk:
