Concerning free software, programming, and whatever else I find interesting. Also the blog for my Web site, frigidcode.com.
Iced Tea does taste good
A long time ago I stopped using Java programs because of the proprietary aspect. But I recently tried out Iced Tea on my Gentoo box and it seems to work pretty well, at least with one program, Planet M.U.L.E:

Planet M.U.L.E. is a free clone of a old economics video game, but with much better graphics. It is rather addicting, but somewhat frustrating if you don't take the time to read the how-to-play guide, which explains in detail all the game mechanics:

After reading the aforementioned document, I was able to beat all the AI players, but just barely.
The Planet M.U.L.E. FAQ says it only works with Sun Java, but this is clearly not the case. Even the run script has been updated to use other implementations.
