iMac disappoints too, ya know.

So, this 2017 iMac. Nice computer. I went "retail" (meaning w\out upgrades) for the express intention of getting the "user's perspective" since I know my brain goes from A to Z in about 1s, I find my tolerance for slow computers is an issue for me. I thought this would be helpful for my work. So I bought this rig as is from BestBuy, off the shelf and took it home. What I have found out to be true for Intel and the Linux world is still true for the Mac World as well.
I have spent, no, thrown money away on software that is darn near useless. I guess I thought the "Mac/Apple" eco-sphere was somehow immune to shoddy products with less-than-reliable products.
I feel as vulnerable using "Mac stuff" as I did using Open Source speaking as a consumer of Apple/Mac. Some products simply are not mature and I have to resist my impulse to assume they are, simply because Apple shows them to me.
After 5 months, "I can't stands no more". I ordered 32 G of RAM for the iMac and that should allow me to do what I do for my work and afford me more time to reign in impulses from Mac-specific sources. "Shiny" stuff. Harumph.
Just sayin'. Still a Great Computer.

Back in the late 1990's to early 2000. I used to have connections for brand new in the box mac laptops that fall off the delivery truck. So I would present them to my wife. I was not a computer user then.
She would complain about proprietary this and that which at that time just flew over my head with a sonic boom.
In other words. No clue what she was complaining about.
I think her girl friends she sold them to, still play online poker on those rigs.Posted 03-10-2018 at 07:54 PM by rokytnji
