I am currently reading/doing LPIC-1/CompTIA Linux+ Certificalation All-in-One Exam Guide by Robb H. Tracy (McGraw-Hill, 2012).

It's harder going through this book than I originally thought that it would be; hence, my reason for creating an account here.

So, OK: The below text comes from LinuxMint 15; but the problem's the same. I'm trying to look at /.profile with $ vi /.profile but what I get is a new file with that name. WTF?!

~ $ ls -a
