Hi,
Been a while...I moved house, so, I've had some stuff on my hands/mind/whatever else...
Okay, today, a new Arch install. On a 80Gb drive. With a 250Gb secondary hard drive as slave drive.
Why? Well, simple.
Let's consider a partitionig scheme:
Why? Well, my current install gets cramped. I stuck to de defaults of the installer and now my OS has a mere 710Mb free space.
But, then, there's the 2 (or some) Gb user space.
Mounting scheme
sda1 goes in the /boot
sda4 in the /home
both are in sda3
the slave drive gets mounted IN the user folder
...done as root, and the thing shows up in /etc/mtab, init cool?
Both disks set as cable select and the master at the far end...
Let her rip!

Quote:
100 Mb as boot
memory * 2 as swap (why not)
2Gb as user space
and the rest as OS space.
