Setting up Ubuntu / Squid Transparent Proxy

Posted 04-18-2012 at 06:28 AM by anthraxbb

New to Ubuntu and Linux, I hope someone will give sometime to help me out. I want to setup a transparent proxy server in ubuntu 10.04 or 11.04 using an Intel Pro 1000 MT Dual Network Adapter. My setup are as follows:

Modem > [eth0] Transparent Proxy [eth1] > Switch > Clients

Data obtain from Linksys E1000 Router:
- IP Address: 122.52.126.xx6
- Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.248
- Default Gateway: 122.52.126.xx5
- DNS 1: 124.106.5.xxx
- DNS 2: 124.106.7.xxx

I have followed this link (http://www.tuxgarage.com/2011/01/how...roxy-with.html) and some other guides.

auto eth0 (I dont know that to put here)
iface eth0 inet static
address
netmask
network
broadcast
gateway

post-up iptables-restore < /etc/iptables.up.rules

auto eth1
iface eth1 inet static
address 192.168.2.1
netmask 255.255.255.0
network 192.168.2.0
broadcast 192.168.2.255

I will appreciate it very much for help. Thank you!

This seems more appropriate for a regular question in the Networking forum.
