Problem with booting fedora 12 repairing filesystem?

I have installed fedora 12 in my system and now i am getting problem with repairing filesystem. when my system boot up i get this message.

**An error occurred during the file system check. **Dropping you to a shell; the system will reboot ***when you leave the shell. Give root password for maintenance (or type Control-D to continue):

When i give root password to repair filesystem.

bash: cannot set terminal process group (-1): Inappropriate ioctl for device bash: no job control in this shell. (Repair Filesystem) 1#

and here i am unable to run fsck command to repair filesystem.

plz help me it's urgent.
