    Just realized

I did a shields up test on a family PC recently and got closed ports, responding to ping. I suspect it was the cable 'modem' that gave those results. The PC itself was behind a wireless router at the time, connected to the cable box. If anyone has any thoughts on that, I'd be interested...

    Rich.

    Webcam in Ubuntu

Sorry I only just noticed your comment! It's too late now as I have bought a Mikomi. But I believe you. It's all very confusing when it comes to hardware!

    Well I tried

Thanks for that! I think I can live with Ubuntu if all I need to do is press F11.

    Well I tried

This happens occasionally with my Firefox in Ubuntu 8.10.

Just press the "F11" key to reinstate the border.

    I'm not having that!

I can't even imagine what the internet will look like in 10 years time? Probably self destruct!

I too, will be ensuring my ISP (Same as yours, I suspect.) don't sell my browsing habits to the highest bidder! It's disgusting that the EU have reservations regarding this snooping but .gov.uk do nothing!
