Hey,
My home bar is gone and has been replaced by a blank one. I cannot connect to anything so any ideas on how to slove this would be greatly appreciated.

    Well,

What distribution are you using, ie: Ubuntu, Mandriva, Opensuse, Fedora, etc?
    and
What desktop, ie: Gnome, KDE, xfce, etc?

    If it is Gnome try:

Right click on the blank bar
    Click on "Add to Panel"
Click on "Main Menu" or "Menu Bar"
    Click on "Add"

If you put something on the Panel bar you don't want right click on it and choose "Remove from Panel"

Hope I read the problem correctly and this helps
