Trying to boot GRUB from the floppy

Hey.
I'm trying to install Arch and to install GRUB from the floppy;i manage to edit the file on the installation process, but it won't give any option to install GRUB to the floppy. Isn't there anyway to surpass this?
The last time I installed i to the MBR,i couldn't boot WinXP from it,even considering that all parameters were correct. It gave me a message saying something like "no executable file format".Can someone enlight me???

Take a look at this old post of mine where I describe how to make a boot floppy (and how to install GRUB on a HD). Note that these procedures are also described in the GRUB documentation.
