Problem with disk space

Hey I have installed Arch on an old HP pavilion, but I am havning space problems yet I have a ~220 gb hdd in it, and when I run df I get this:
Code:
[root@(none) tools]# df
Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
rootfs 7662396 7609468 0 100% /
/dev 512688 0 512688 0% /dev
/run 514228 268 513960 1% /run
/dev/sda3 7662396 7609468 0 100% /
shm 514228 136 514092 1% /dev/shm
tmpfs 514228 328 513900 1% /tmp
/dev/sda1 99590 16391 77980 18% /boot
/dev/sda4 235860396 34841016 189212412 16% /home
Can anyone tell me what's wrong ? should I have set more space to the for the root ? - I ain't use to an Arch setup as main system

Hi
1. your root partition is full
2. maybe

Three ways to solve the problem:
1. You've to remove stuff from your root partition.

if that's not sufficient:
2. and 3. You have to resize your partitions
or delete and recreate them in a different way (both after a backup).

to do so
1. check if you have installed software you don't need, log files which have grown to big ....

2. to backup I would recommend: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Partimage
then resizing or deleting and recreating partitions can be done with: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GNU_Parted

Be aware that resizing can be a risk for your data and might end in loss of data so backup!

Well that depends on what you want to do, if you're just trying something I'd say about 3-4 GB.
If you have KDE or Gnome its about 10 GB. On my laptop I have 11 GB.

Delete your old packages in /var/cache/pacman/pkg to clear some space or run pacman -Scc.
