i have onboard audio, i believe it is intel i810. shouldn't hwd find this? it hasn't. i don't want to give up on arch, but i have been having probs in almost every aspect
What does hwd tell you? I don't use it, personally, but I know it doesn't actually load modules for you, it just tells you which modules are appropriate, and then you load them yourself.
There is a comprehensive guide to setting up sound on the Arch website (www.archlinux.org). Go to the wiki pages and serach for Alsa.
