when using pcmanfm, sometimes I want to look whats in the trash. But When I want to open the trash in the task line of pcmanfm, I get the message - operation not supported. Whats wrong here?
If PCManFM supports the FreeDesktop.org Trash specification then you can list contents of the Trash Can with a command-line tool like trash-list from package trash-cli (there are other similar tools, e.g. rmw). Scripting their output to be shown in a GUI window with zenity, yad, kdialog, whatever, should be pretty straightforward.
The trash can is supposed to be a problem with pcmanfm, but with nemo it is similar. I wanted to put the symbol of the trash can on the desktop ( not related to pcmanfm ) , but trying this, I got the message - desktop administration not active ( translated from german to english ). So what can I do? I ve this prob with my 2 notebooks with Antix19.

This functionality is provided by gvfs as was previously pointed out.
This is an optional dependency, a.k.a. Install-Recommends on Debian-based distros.
I suppose that gvfs (or gvfs-backends, gvfs-fuse) is not installed?
I suggest you re-install pcmanfm with recommends; this should be an option in your graphical apt frontend (synaptic?).
gvfs-backends and gvfs-fuseare both installed.
I am using nemo as a file manager by now, and when trying to open the ashtray there, I get the message - folder content cannot be displayed, because the process is not supported. Is there any chance of getting access to the ashtry?
nemo might have additional optional dependencies.
Have you enabled install recommends for all software yet?
Whatever the problematic fm is, open it in a maximised terminal and reproduce the problematic behaviour.
Then show us the complete terminal output by way of copy-pasting the text here.
it doesn t work on my travelmate with pcmanfm nor on my acer with nemo.
I opened nemo in the roxtern, nemo opened, i clicked the trash button, the problem remained the same as displayed in the posting before. And this without any comment in the roxterm
