Is a file in writting ?


Hi.

I need to know if a file is in writting.

I have to work with a file, but before working with it, I need to know if somme application is still writing in it.

(this file is wriiten only one time).

Is there any compared command of lsof ?

lsof ships with AIX (might be on the AIX utilities CD, you can certainly download it from the web). However, for what you want, fuser will work fine.

fuser will tell you if a specific file is opened by a process.
