Android doesn't have the awful restrictions of Amazon Fire OS, and has the largest app/user base

MIUI has a extremely useful and complete security suite on top of Android.

Ubuntu Touch

Been using Ubuntu touch, but it is still buggy and locks up. I had it on a nexus 7 and it was unusable. I have it on a nexus 4 but just not able to move to it completely.

Heh... I think my Nexus 5 wanted very badly to live on the edge, because it soft-bricked itself (for no good reason, as far as I can tell) in the early January.

So I thought... well, time to ditch Android there, and here goes LineageOS.

And to think I bought this phone because Plasma Mobile supposedly works best on that model, but when I tried it, it didn't work.
