Amarok is neato! But your 2nd question often has a different answer (I usually listen to LQ Podcast on Realplayer, cos I'm too lazy to set up mplayerplugin.LOL)

As Harishankar said in post #5 - turns out I joined him before I read his post:

I think it's unfair to put Audio players along with Recording and Editing tools like Audacity.
Of course I wanted to vote for XMMS as the best player and Audacity as the best editor.
But I voted for Audacity anyway. I frequently record and edit audio, so I think that Audacity is my choice.

amaroK.

No contest.

It IS the future of Linux audio.

Wheres Noatun? I luv it, its just SO simple! But XMMS will get my second vote.

nuka_t 01-05-2005 07:35 PM

amarok.

Th3P14Gu3 01-06-2005 02:34 AM

xmms, mpg123 is also nice......

Tinny 01-06-2005 03:55 AM

amaroK. The best

smart2128 01-06-2005 12:45 PM

Amarok, Amarok and Amarok

ltd602 01-06-2005 01:28 PM

Just to be fair, juK is a close second behind amaroK, and I'm glad it's there. juK's a sweet little app.

amaroK is like JuK . . . on steroids. ;)

I voted for amarok, but I think its close between juk and amarok, as far as playing media and tag editing. Audacity is easy to use and fun though.

Quest-Master 01-07-2005 09:21 PM

Beep Media Player.

Since it's based on XMMS, I just voted on that.
