Thinking of Installing FreeBSD

Hi,
I'm thinking of install FreeBSD on one of my boxes. I'm pretty much comfortable with the CLI and coming from a Slackware background, i understand it should not be that hard getting FreeBSD to work. the only question i had is i have a really old machine, a PII-233 with about 64 Megs of RAM. the ethernet controller is recognized as a tulip on the current slack installation i'm running presently. on the hardware notes for FreeBSD it says i could use a winbond fast ethernet driver which is designed to be a DEC "tulip" alike. i tried to use the CD to boot and install FreeBSD but for some odd reason the system keeps rebooting and its not loading up the initial kernel. if i install using floppies, is there any specific images i need to use on this old machine, for the drivers and the hard-drive controller ?

Thanks for any input.

TIA

You should be able to use the default floppy image. Even if that floppy doesn't have drivers for all your devices, they will be supported once you reboot. The floppy images have very stripped kernels in order to fit on a single floppy, but when you install you get the full kernel. AFAIK "Tulip" cards should be supported by the lmc(4) driver.
