I'm not an expert with FreeBSD.
I've noticed something odd lately with my 4 port D-link router. I'm running FreeBSD 7.0 using DHCP sitting behind a NAT router. Sometimes when I boot into FreeBSD (maybe about once every third boot) I notice some strange activity with my router. All four lights on my router are flashing continuously (Like my NIC is hammering the network). When this happens my mouse is moderately sluggish. This does not happen when I boot into Slackware on the same machine. Any ideas? I'm not really upset by this ,but, I am curious.
Thank you for any and all replies.

It sounds like this continues well after boot time, right? How long does it last?
You could capture traffic with tcpdump to get some leads.
