Hi,

I'im runing NetBSD.
my internet connection is configure with dhcp and i can't give a name to my machine!

dhclient always give me a name like this dhcp-177-82, who change with a a new boot (i think).
So i can't run Apache:

if i put in /etc/hosts this line :
127.0.0.1 localhost dhcp-177-82

and if i put in httpd.conf :

ServerName dhcp-177-82

Apache Run, but i don't want to change it all time.

if replace dhcp-177-82 by a other name in this two files, Apache can't start!

How can i do to have the same name every time??

Hi, I've never professed to being a guru and never even used bsd but I know something that may be usefull and that is:

in the etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-your_adapter file, you need to have this line
DHCP_HOSTNAME=your_host_name
otherwise the dhcp server won't be updated.
