No Java virtual machine could be found from your PATH


I'm running bin that needs java, I installed java but I'm obviously still missing something as I'm getting this message:

I tried a few different things but no good so far.

Two questions:
  • Is this FreeBSD, OpenBSD, or NetBSD?
  • Can the VM be found on the path?

Its ok I got it working.

Added this to my bashrc

export PATH=/usr/local/jdk1.6.0/bin:$PATH
export JAVADIR=/usr/local/jdk1.6.0/
