how to play mp3's? ~ pcbsd 8.3


i installed xmms and i cannot find any engines so i would like to know which and where to get the engines to play the mp3's.

i have tryed to install arts and xine. i do have linux compatibility installed and when i configure all will go as planed but when i type make , there will be many error code 1 . what is going wrong?
