How to determine filesystem on usb drive?

How do you determine the filesystem on an usb drive? I found one when unpacking and I'm not sure what it is. Using FreeBSD 10.1.

Will give you that (and some more besides).

@head_on_a_stick: Not on FreeBSD it won't.

Plug in the device and issue:

# dmesg|tail

Use the device node you see there e.g:

# fdisk /dev/da0

Or whatever device node you saw in your dmesg output

This should tell you what type of partition type and file systems are present on that device.

# gpart list da0

Will give some more verbose information.
