Gnome-session listening on TCP socket; i don't know why

Hi there,
I have a bit of a puzzling thing going on with Gnome2 on FreeBSD-8.2-RELEASE.Dispite the fact that Gnome2 is supposed to not enable gnome-session to listen on a TCP socket, gnome-session is showing up in the output of:
Code:
netstat -a
Here is the output:
Code:
tcp4 0 0 *.56726 *.* LISTEN
tcp6 0 0 *.36618 *.* LISTEN
And with further investigation using lsof, i got something like this output:
Code:
lsof -i:36618
COMMAND PID USER FD TYPE SIZE/OFF NODE NAME
gnome-ses 1807 dave 7u IPv6 0t0 TCP *:36618 (LISTEN)
gnome-ses 1807 dave 7u IPv6 0t0 TCP *:36618 (LISTEN)
gnome-ses 1807 dave 7u IPv6 0t0 TCP *:36618 (LISTEN)
 lsof -i:56726
COMMAND PID USER FD TYPE SIZE/OFF NODE NAME
gnome-ses 1807 dave 8u IPv4 0t0 TCP *:56726 (LISTEN)
gnome-ses 1807 dave 8u IPv4 0t0 TCP *:56726 (LISTEN)
gnome-ses 1807 dave 8u IPv4 0t0 TCP *:56726 (LISTEN)
I didn't do anything except install Gnome2 with pkg_add. I was using KDE4 before but didn't think it went that well with FreeBSD, like Gnome does. The only other configuration i did was, following to the letter the Desktop environments section of the FreeBSD handbook, putting the correct settings in rc.conf etc. I've googled but i only found something on configuring GDM.
How do i change the behaviour of gnome-session so that it is not listening on a TCP port? And in what case(if you can be bothered to answer this next question) would it matter that gnome-session is listening on a TCP socket?. I googled these but only found something on gdm. I tried reconfiguring that but it didn't help. Like i say i couldn't find much in the way of other people who've had this issue, which is slightly disturbing. Is gconf-editor the right tool for re-configuring Gnome-session or editing the necessary XML(?)?. Any help would be great. Thankx very much for any replies
