I want to install bootable FreeBSD on pendrive. I think I need to use this image:
ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/re...6-memstick.img
I can then dd it with following command on a linux terminal (to which I have access to):
Code:
dd if=FreeBSD-10.2-RELEASE-i386-memstick.img of=/dev/sdb
where sdb is the pendrive partition. Is all this correct? Should this be sdb or sdb1? Also, should the pendrive be mounted or unmounted for this process?
After it is written on pendrive, I should be able to boot it. Will this be only an installation pendrive or will it be live system? Can I use it as regular system, saving files to it and making changes to it (adding further programs etc)?
Thanks for your help.
