Well, I had issues with Linux and Dual Booting with GAG Actually, there was a time when I had only Linux, but Ive had hardware issues, (printer etc), tried dual booting two linux's, but it fucked up my mbr and didnt boot when i selected the os (debian). It said it didnt support linuxes with grub only lilo, so ive got a first bad impression.
I'm also a happy GAG user. With Linux you need to install LILO/Grub to the beginning of the Linux root partition if you use GAG. I expect you'll have trouble if you install LILO/Grub into MBR when GAG is already there. But it's quite easy to uninstall GAG if you don't like it and it will restore MBR like it was before GAG was installed.
Originally posted by Clark Bent I just use the FreeBSD stock bootloader and it works fine. I have XP on my master and BSD on my slave and it has worked out quite nicely.

You know, I think I remember that! Anyway, the stock bootloader will work well if you care to give it a try. It was real simple and did all it's own configuration and just worked.
1.) Install Windows and define a partition for it that doesn't take up your entire harddrive space.
2.) Then assuming that you left yourself some free space for *BSD you install that.
3.) When you get to the options about selecting where you want to install it you select the area where it's labeled "free space" then hit "c" on your keyboard followed by "q".
4.) Then the next screen will appear and ask you for a sceme for your mount points which you can just simply hit: "a" followed by "q" to use the defaults.
5.) Make sure that you install the FreeBSD boot manager (If you're using FreeBSD anyways).
If you have any more questions reguarding this method which works quite well don't be shy to contact me and I'll try my best to help you with your ongoing efforts if this is still the case and I am well aware that this post is a late one.
