Zenwalk 8 Fresh IInstall Need Help With Wifi

Hi:

I just installed Zenwalk 8 on my Sony Vaio and it runs great.

The problem I'm running into is I'm having a terrible time getting the wifi working.

I created a /etc/wpa_supplicant configuration file and rebooted and created a WiFi connection in Network Connections but that didn't help.

How do I get the wireless working?

The wireless connection is working now:-

So...I upgraded netpkg--
Any clue why netpkg isn't launching?

I tried xnetpkg and that's not working.

Running xnetpkg was in the Zenwalk Package Management documentation but it's not working.

Any ideas?

Evidently the error message that I posted in post #4 is related to a perl issue and the only way to solve it is to rebuild perl.

https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=213408

I suspect that there are 2 different pkg's of perl and that's causing the mismatch OR> the perl script isn't working with the version of perl that is installed which would (I'm thinking) is why the netpkg gui isn't launching.

I won't be spending any more time on this and will just look for another distribution at this time.

netpkg CLI is not dependent on perl (in fact : nearly not dependent on anything : it's a bash and pkgtool cli frontend) : so you can use it when xnetpkg (GUI version) is broken for some reason (perl problem for example).
