The familiar Ubuntu drum-roll no longer plays when the GDM login screen appears in 18.04. Does anyone know to restore this, eg appropriate command in Startup Applications, or any other method.
Are ages that Ubuntu drum-roll is absent on login, you can get it back doing this:
- Maybe needing to install " vorbis-tools "
- Open startup applications from the dash
- Add
- Name = Desktop login sound # or whatever you want
- Command = ogg123 /usr/share/sounds/ubuntu/stereo/dialog-question.ogg
- Comment = Empty or write what you want
- Save
- Log out # if you want test
- Done
