My "X" 's stop working

When i try to close off a window, using the X, you know the one, that is in Windows, ,it will go gray, to say that it has been activated, but the window will not close off, ,or disappear.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

jim

Is this happening with all application windows, or just one in particular?

For all applications.

I have Feisty Fawn installed. (7.04)

Another thing that I have noticed is that screen-saver locks up and I can not get backin. Have to do a reboot.

Jim,

Has this happened all along with your installation, or did it just start happening recently? If just recently, what changes have you made to your system just prior to this starting?

Funny....

Since I did a clean install of Feisty, I had Dapper, but then did the drive re-format thing etc.

When I click the X and just stayed open, I can still close it from the bottom, when I right click, and chose close.

LOL, I did do an update this evening, and now I do not have the problem.

So it fixed itself.

So now maybe I will see if the screen-saver still locks up on me.

Ah... OK, Jim. I was going to say that something about the desktop environment was corrupted. Now that an update has fixed it, it's very possible that the update overwrote whatever corrupted bit may have been causing this. You got LUCKY!

Luck with it!
