Leap 42.1 SD Card Write Permission Failure with ext3

I have formatted a 16 gig SD card using gparted with ext3. Leap 42.1 displays the card and contents but will not let me write to it. I would like some suggestions on how the card should be partitioned and formatted using ext3. Other cards with msdos partitions and fat32 or ntfs work fine in the same machine.

What user did you format the card as?

What user are you mounting the card as?

What user are you attempting to write content to the card as?

Have you checked the logs to see if there are any messages about the card being mounted read-only?
