Suse vs Novell Desktop Linux


what the hell is the difference?

Is suse 9.2 pro and novell desktop linux 9 same thing? Or are they different could someone clarify please many thx

P.s. what are the advantages and disadvantages

i dunno, im guessing SuSE is more for the windows crowd and Novell seems more for the ex Red Hat users who are sick of Fedora. Just off the cuff from looking at screenshots. It makes sense I think. Anyone at Novell will say outright that they just want to make a buck because, well, when was the last time you said "dang, I love Netware".

Netware went out with the old Bus Networks. There is not much of a difference really, it is easier to edit config files, and their N logo is everywhere. Mostly the same though.

NLD is based on SuSE Linux Enterprise Server, While 9.2 is ... well 9.2.

One has free patches, the other does not.

Edit: Oh and we still use Netware 6. I like it fine.

Simpler subset

I thought I saw an article that said the Desktop version is a simpler subset of SuSE 9.2 Pro. Perhaps its more like 9.1 Personal.
