Suse Linux 10.0 64 bit and citrix connection problems

Suse Linux 10.0 64 bit and citrix connection problems
Posted: Nov 6, 2005 10:44 AM

I am running Suse Linux 64 bit software and I cannot connect with citrix server through my home PC with work. The citrix drivers are correctly installed and the citrix metaframe windows tried to connect (because you can see the Windows 2000 Server advertising screen appear), but shortly hangs after that DOS looking black screen appears and opens partially. After that is just hangs with a partially open black screen.

I have installed same citrix drivers onto Mandrake Linux and Thiz-Linux Operating systems and it worked great.

Can you help explain what I might be able to do to correct this problem?

Re: Suse Linux 10.0 64 bit and citrix connection problems

I have spoken with a Citrix Technical support agent today (11-18-05) and he was rather rude about my issue below. He basically said there are no drivers written for 64 bit Linux and there was no plan or no need to do it. When I asked him why did they do it for Windows 64 bit and not Linux, his response was Windows has a larger customer base support and larger product to service.

I was upset with this remark and would appreciate for anyone to voice your complaints with Citrix at www.citrix.com and there tech support number is 1-800-424-8749.

It seems to me that there's a consipracy out there with Microsoft to control market share and stifle competition amongst operating systems. It's not right!!!!!!

It seems to me they could care less about customer service or support. This is my opinion.
