Post Is it possible to disable the repositories and enable them again?

Hello, I'm looking forward for a fresh install of openSUSE KDE in the up coming hours but first I need to figure out how will I connect to the internet.
Going to the point, right away, I've found a post that explains very well what to do to have access to the internet by PPPoE which is all I can have: I have tried to install the four packages mentioned by the creator of this post I'm talking about but I couldn't install them because I have an error message saying that the packages that I want to install are already on the repositories and that's why I ask if I could disable the repos for a while and then enable them back once I'm done. I will use KDE.
Finally here is a link to the post I talk to you about: http://lifestory.moqin.com/?p=356
