"Google" banner not showing

http://news.google.com/ The large banner picture that is next to the "Search News" button doesn't show. Pretty much all of a sudden. I tried other themes but it still has no "Google" in the empty box. It has the little java icon in the upper left. Konquerer shows it fine. Suse 10.2, FF 2.0.0.8, Java Plug-in 1.5.0_13-b05.
This is really strange, I clicked on "videos" on the Google News page and watched a snake reguritating a hippo, and now I have a distorted version of that video in the box where "Google" is supposed to be.
