Installing Solaris 11 on Dell T340 server problem

Trying to install Solaris 11(¾) on Dell T340 server.

It stucks/stops on a very first “SunOS Release 5.11 Version” message see screenshot

If I enable verbose mode then it stucks on “root on /ramdisk:a fstype ufs” - See another screenshot.

Tried googling around to my very best couldn't find anything helpful.

Many, many thanks !

There was a version 12 of Solaris, you know.

Why are you doing this to yourself? Apparently the system can't even read the BIOS, so how is it going to read the boot order?

Solaris 12 essentially became Solaris 11.4.

Solaris 11 is only supported on a limited set of server hardware, not on laptops anymore.

Your best bet is to install Solaris 11 on top of a virtualization layer like VirtualBox.

Otherwise, you might have better luck with illumos based distributions like OpenIndiana.
