import solaris user to linux

Hey All
I am trying to transfer (md5) solaris users into Linux (sha256)

I did the import but I cannot seem to logon without resetting their password.

I tried changing server to md5 but no luck.
Anyone migrated solaris users to Rhel7 Linux?
How do you do it without having to reset password?

Thanks

Delegating authentication to a directory server would allow the userPassword attribute to store the password hash with the correct scheme.

Likely because there is nothing specific about it.

Configure your Linux boxes to authenticate to an ldap directory server and you are almost done. You have to make sure first the ldap product you select supports md5 as password storage scheme though.
