Update problem on Slackware 14.1

Hi all,

I just did a fresh install of Slackware 14.1 on Virtual Box (5.0.10).
I used all default options.

After the installation, I did the following steps:

# vim /etc/slackpkg/mirrors
I chose to un-comment:
http://mirrors.slackware.com/slackwa...ckware64-14.1/

Then:
# slackpkg update gpg
# slackpkg update

I am getting this error:

awk: error while loading shared libraries: libmpfr.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Is this a known issue?

Thanks,
Angelos

Hi and welcome to this forum.

You didn't make a full installation, although that be recommended for newcomers for a reason. Install at least the package 'mpfr' from the L series.

Hi Didier,

Thank you for the reply.
I wanted to make a terminal-only installation and I must have removed the L series because it was mentioning some Desktop Environments.
I will try again.

BTW is there a minimal installation guide somewhere to use?

Best,
Angelos

Just leave alone X, XAP, KDE and XFCE.

Beyond that use the feature "Search this forum" in the Slackware forum (up) with these keywords: minimal install.

But again, having a full installation do not prevent to use your system as terminal-only in any way.

I won't elaborate, having done so too many times...
