X won't load i810 module for 915GM video card "module requirement mismatch"

Specs:
Dell Inspiron B120 Laptop
Intel 915GM Video card

Slackware 10.2
Kernel 2.6.15.5

I've been trying to get X to use i810 drivers to run my video card, so I can get acceleration working on it. I used the following guide I found on Linux Questions http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...d.php?t=402003 .

When I setup the xorg.conf file it gave me the following message(taken from Xorg.0.log). The error message is bolded on the bottom of the log.

Slackware 10.2 came with X version 6.8.2 so I need to upgrade.

I gave it a shot, but I don't know all the stuff like refresh rates and whatnot. I don't want to fry this computer or anything. Should I just use the info in my current xorg.conf?

Don't upgrade if you want to use suspend, the drivers for the i810 have a resume bug in the newer versions.

Probabaly so, I've never tried hibernate to see if mine will resume from it, just rolled back to the older X

Its not for not knowing how, its that I never shut my laptop down long enough to make hibernation worth it. Mine just suspends when I drive to work and back for about 1/2 hour each so I don't need to hibernate to save battery and with over 512m ram it takes too long anyway, I can shutdown and boot up just as fast.
