Unhappy Why can't lilo be installed in my hard disk?

i installed linux slackware 9.1 in a pentium3 700MHz w/ a 20GB hard disk. my partitioning did well, i partitioned the hard disk by:

6GB linux
10GB winxp
512MB swap
--remaining-- backup FAT partition

during the installation, setup paused because it couldn't install lilo. it prompted that the active partition does not have a valid boot signature.

i tried to install lilo at the MBR. it still didn't work. wat to do??

Run cfdisk from a shell, as root.
Make sure bothe your XP partition and your Linux partition are flagged as boot. It sounds like this is your problem. make them both "boot" and hit "write".

If that doesn't fix it, please post error messages and we'll go from there.
