Honestly, I use either XFCE or Windowmaker most of the time.

Does having the panel only stretch partway not bother you? I feel like not having the menu button at the very left corner would drive me nuts.

Take a week off with fluxbox maybe?
The menu is everywhere you right click on desktop...

Then, once back to XFCE, everything looks like Savoy

I have the panel width set to 80%. That's why it appears that way. And no, it is my preferred way. I've run that lower panel on numerous Linux distributions and DEs that same way for the last 15 years.

To each their own.

I use Fluxbox! I just added a menu to the right side of the panel - I don't want to have to minimize to the desktop whenever I need to open an application.

glass terminal

Glass terminal it is like writing on clean glass window. See picture. Yet problem is setup for terminal itself. I mean to colorize listings or put background behind fonts. To improve readability.

Not much conky activity here, and due to the Corona outbreak I had some time to figgle with one during my personal quarantine .

So, what kind of conky is this? Well, it is a conky that changes colors with pywal, so it is heavily dependent on pywal to work. It works with Conky 1.10.x. Tested on current and 14.2.

The conky itself is pure lua with Cairo Graphics, i.e. no PNG/JPEG is used.

This conky shows;

Diskspace
RAM Usage
CPU Usage
CPU Temperature
GPU Hz

I've been using a green on black color scheme for years. I have a feeling it's been harder on my eyes than I thought so I started playing around with softer solarized colors. I settled on grubvox and found I really like it...

Slackware64 -current with Xfce running, but I run lots of KDE applications.
I like KDE too but I prefer Xfce if it is available, it is more simple to configure.
