This is my desktop. Fluxbox with the Green Tea colour scheme, and transparency effect.

Its 26 deg here and I'm very cold.

Like the minimal conky; what variable are you using for temp? A recent compile (conky 1.8) isn't displaying my thinkpad's temp correctly.

Code:
${execi 1 cat /proc/acpi/thermal_zone/THM0/temperature |    sed 's/ C/°C/' | sed 's/temperature:             //'}
A bit convoluted but it works.

mlangdn, THAT is a really cool screenshot. It resembles Old Man's Cave here in southern Ohio, right down to the boulder on the right that broke off the cliff some years back!

That looks really nice.

I'd love a copy of that background for my collection.

Slackware 13 64 bit Running Fluxbox on a Dell Latitude D630

Slackware 13 64 bit running Fluxbox on a Dell Latitude D630.

I didn't care for Fluxbox, but I found this thread and all the best looking desktops are running Fluxbox. Then I used some of the links and ideas for a desktop image.

I've been using Fluxbox for a week now and I'm really liking it. It's fast and stable. I'm tired of buggy kde 4. Stability is important to me. XFCE is a little better, but Fluxbox has been awesome.

Wicd is great. My laptop goes into suspend when I shut the lid and comes out of it when I get home. It is set up to automatically pick my my wireless at home. I don't have to do any tweaking it just works as soon as I open the lid! This is remarkable to me. In the past I've always intervened and switched the network manually even though the rest of suspend worked.

I'm using XFCE's power management to display battery usage and enable suspend with the lid on Fluxbox. I use kmix for the volume control and the aterm Slackbuild for my transparent terminals. I'm using the invisible theme for gkrellm.

I have a script that uses xrandr to turn the second display on and off when I want it.

Seriously, it's never been this good. I have this thread to thank for all the great ideas and inspiration.

Thanks guys!
