* is instead of continuation of link, basically everything on those pages won't open... hope it's not somehow blocking all ftp ones...
Before I used winXP, and noticed same behavior, I wasn't able to open those pages, then reinstalled to win7 and everything worked perfectly fine. Now decided to try to switch to linux once again, but got same problem as with winXP, can't open them. After few minutes of waiting I end up getting
Quote:
Unable to connect
Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at ftp.gnome.org
Interesting thing is that before switching to Slackware, I was running win7 and Slackware on VirtualBox. If I'd access pages thru win7, it would work fine. If I'd access them thru Slackware on VirtualBox I'd get same error, in that case I would minimize it, and try with win7, and in that case it wouldn't work with win7 ether. Haven't tested too much so don't know exact timeline, but after about hour of waiting if I'd try with win7 it would work again. Would immediately switch to Slackware on VirtualBox, tried with it, wouldn't work, tried with win7 and it would be blocked again. So... not sure what was the thing with winXP, but seems that there is something on Slackware that makes those pages... not like my computer?
Sorry to disappoint you but you'll have to look for an other reason and don't blame Slackware as it is. I just tried all your links and they all work, even when descending to deeper levels. I'm running Slackware64 13.1 -multilib. Tested in Chrome and Firefox without any problem.
Kind regards,
Eric
