in the 10.2-iso folder, chose

slackware-10.2-install-d1.iso

and

slackware-10.2-install-d2.iso

to have bootable installation media.

If you want the stable release you want slackware-10.2-install-d1.iso (also d2 get the d3 if you need the extras/sources)
Don't know where you are but there are lots of mirrors: ftp://slackware.mirrors.tds.net/pub/...kware-10.2-iso

you just find the iso you want and click download. save it to your harddrive and then burn it with an iso burner. as far as what image to get....what image do you want? read up on slackware and ubuntu and debian etc. they are all good distros and you have a huge list to choose from. what are you looking for in a distro? what do you wish do to with the distro? ask yourself those questions while you read up on them before you choose. and ubuntu dapper drake is a good starter distro. good luck in your search, you'll find the right one for you.
