Thumbs up "The next release of Slackware is due in a few weeks. " -bob

Greetings all slackware users,
I saw this on another forum, thought it would be nice to share with those whom are interested in getting the latest slackware release.

An update on Slack 8.2 I received a reply from the Slackware store today. The text is pasted below.

#### ###### <> said...
>Kind People,
>This is in reference to invoice #*******of 27 Jan 2003. My name is #####
>I just wanted to say that you people are a big nasty tease! I want to run
>Slackware so badly! I order it and what do I get? The book. Now I can read
>ALL about it. But can I USE it? No.
>This is like a Playboy magazine without the pictures. An apple pie without
>any apple. A Corvette without an engine.
>"I want my Slackware now." Sung to the tune of "Money for Nothin'" has been
>my theme song since I got the book. My family has threatened to leave me if
>I don't stop singing it. You are my last, best hope!
>I NEED the disks.
>When might I get them?

Hi #######,
Sorry for the delay. The next release of Slackware is
due in a few weeks. We will send your CDROMs as soon
as they come off the press.

Yeah, I've worked at some places where the business guys tell the client, "Oh yeah, our developers can do that and have it for you in a couple of weeks."

Those few weeks turn into months since the business or sales guys are only trying to make the sell and the developers don't like the business guys for making false promises.

I'll be suprised if bob is correct and it does come out in a couple of weeks, but we'll just have to wait and see though. I go by Patrick's word before the business guy's.
