connect to windows tightvnc from linux

all versions of vnc, ssvnc, tightvnc, xtightvnc tried from ubuntu 22.04 will fail to connect to tightvnc on windows. Will ask for password, accept password then fail but the terminal disappears before I can read why.

Have you checked logs?

Anytime someone needs help, must gave more system informations as possible to helpers.

They probably have --debug optionS. Last resort: tcpdump , strace

Trying various web-search keywords may help you narrow down what specific info is relevant
For example: https://unix.stackexchange.com/quest...ed-immediately

You could try Remmina. Supports VNC and RDP protocols.

RDP is supported by Windows natively, so you don't even need to install a VNC server on the Windows machine, but just enable RDP access:

The native Windows RDP server is only available for professional and enterprise versions.
What VNC client are you running on Ubuntu?

Have you read the documentation?
